FreSh - Freedom of Sharing (August 29, 2008)

That is the controversy video clip at YouTube perform by the Richter Scales’ “Here Comes Another Bubble”, a smart, clever sendup of Web 2.0 culture done to a Billy Joel tune “I didn’t start the fire”.
I don’t want to comment about the controversy, because it is solve already with version 1.1 of the video with (too-quick) credits at the end.

What interesting to me in this video was, the story behind this video clip, about a man who failed on the first dotcom bubble, and then he capture it smartly about google, facebook, digg, etc. And how high the success values of these companies today. They will never succeed without a great business planning, a solid teamwork, awesome programmer and designer, and many human resources that involve in the planning, sketching, developing and running the internet business.

Matt worried it gonna happened the second bubble, that will make all successfull dotcom businesses into ground zero. Are we ready for it?

It was not a joke and really need a hard works, all people in there are taking care each other as a solid teamwork, no matter they are business owner, geek programmer, web designer or event only an office boy that help you to buy lunches.

Today we are going to have a first FreSh (Freedom of Sharing) | Think . Act . Share ,meeting at Jakarta. A new community to build care each other, and share anything to improve our values, to prepare everything before it to late.

Deliver your correct brand image message: A lesson from “Hancock” movie

Any who already watch Hancock movie, will get the red line message on it.
It’s about the important of delivering a correct brand image to public. A bad reputation of Superhero, is totally mess-up message, that does not relate into common superhero brand image.

I already wrote at Kolumnis.com in indonesian language about Hancock Movie, so here i just put my conclusions:

1. Take care your Brand Image, and make sure it is delivering the correct message.

2. Do not under estimate an effect from Social Medias, and other konventional medias (TV, NewsPaper, Radio, etc.), make sure they all in our side for delivering correct brand image message. If they don’t, be quick to create brand image recovery.

So, is your brand image message delivered correctly?

Direct Connecting to Heart Marketing

Friday, May 16, 2008. My Boss Hermawan kartajaya told me and other more than 100 markplus workshop participants about a story on his facebook account.

“This morning, someone new from my facebook contact propose me about a product he have. And I am sure all of the audience here can guess what is my answer.

Yes… the answer is “NO“.

” Think about this.
First, I don’t event needed the product
Second, He hardly express a hard-selling technique with me, although he is just connect with me yesterday.
Third, I don’t know anything about him. ”

” Well, I’m sure it will be a bit differ if he start it with a more polite ways. Getting more closer with me (offline or online ways), tell me more about the product with a very well maintained explaination.”

Well.. I guess My Boss decision for saying “NO” was best answer for this case. The Person that offering HK a product, it just get a introduction (skin-layer) and not yet trying to influence HK event far away from engaging with HK heart.

To explain this case, I create this “Direct Connecting to Heart Marketing” model to be a guide for building a good connectivity in term of personal branding development.

Direct Connect to Heart Marketing

The most easiest ways on creating connection with other people/ other company is by “Reach” them, you can use a phone, email, or blogwalking on their blog by commenting on others blog article.

But “Reach” is only the skin-layer of connection. It’s what I call an ordinary Introduction. It will gain nothing if we don’t follow it up with Inner-layer “Influencing” which is mean, more frequently interactivity with them. Let them know more about You, share interest topics each others, make your own red-line that bind both of you more closer.

And then you will realize that, You and them are ready to “Engage” Deeper-Layer, create more great opportunities, because you are their close-friend now, both of you are in one big family connected by heart and emotion.

So what happend when you sell/ offering something to them?

Well… it is not guarantee 100% they will buy your product/ service/ others offering. But be sure it will create a good consideration for them to accept your offering.

In personal brand we need to build this good connectivity, with other person or company.

We are now moving from just a personal brand building to personal brand engagement, in an effort to increase our good connectivity loyalty.

Indonesian Blogger Party 2007 - Online Report

Today i will going to Blogger Party 2007 located in Blitz Megaplex .
All set and ready, the event organizer predict that participant will be very loaded. It is now only 65 seats available for reserved participant that already confirm by email, so it is possible that not all reserved participant get his seats.

Tips to choose your “link love” partners

Link Love is an unsolicited a link post between sites or blogs that you enjoy about it, admire it or you personaly find useful for you and for other people who might visit the site.

Everyone knows that links are great for our blog popularity and ranking, in order to get the top position on search engine result.

You see, More links means more traffic, increased page rank, and have a deep indexing on search engine. And there is no barrier between your blog and search engine top result.

Link love creating an evangelists community to increase your blog popularity, it’s good if their blog topics is the same as your blog topics, but it’s will not made any significant impact if the blog topics is way different from yours. And event worse, it might harm your blog popularity if we do a link love with a banned blog.
Just remember, not all links are good for our blog, we must be clever to choose link quality over link quantity.

Here a simple tips to choose your link love partners:

  1. Find a related topics blogs (check the blog at technorati.com, and make sure the tags shows the same topics with yours)
  2. Makes sure the blog address is not banned by search engine. ( Check their search engine recognization by typing the full address of the blog into search engine, and if it shows some result, then it’s ok to be choosen as link love partner. )
  3. All inbound link are great for link love. (it’s driving traffics to our blog)
  4. Higher Page Rank blog give us a bigger link love, you can check the page rank of website/ blog from iwebtool.com/pagerank_checker
